Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has ruled out sending defender Louis Laing away on-loan.
The Sunday Sun says Championship and League One clubs have enquired about Laing, but Sunderland boss Bruce is ready to keep him at the Stadium of Light to act as back up for his more experienced defenders, after selling Anton Ferdinand to QPR on transfer deadline day.
And that is a huge bonus for the young defender - who has rocketed through the ranks after a solid pre-season.
