Sunderland have denied reports they're in for Inter Milan fullback Davide Santon.

Sunderland have announced that they will not be signing former Newcastle defender Santon, as talks between the two parties broke down.

The club posted in a statement on their website:

“Sunderland AFC will not be pursuing its interest in Inter Milan player Davide Santon, after negotiations between the two clubs failed to reach a positive conclusion."
