Sunderland aim to hijack Fulham's O'Donovan deal

Sunderland boss Roy Keane is making a late bid to hijack Fulham's deal for Cork City striker Roy O'Donovan.

The Journal says the 21-year-old League of Ireland top scorer is due in London for a medical this morning, but Keane is hoping he stays at home after a change of heart of his own. On Friday, the 35-year-old denied any interest in his fellow Corkman but claimed yesterday to have changed his mind.

"I changed my mind about Roy," explained the Irishman. "He is a goalscorer and hopefully we will bring him in. It was just a gut feeling which came to me on Saturday night. I've never been dismissive of League of Ireland football. It's not a problem for me."
