VfB Stuttgart chief Fabian Wohlgemuth concedes they could lose Serhou Guirassy next month.

The striker's contract carries a €17.5m buyout clause and he's interesting Manchester United, West Ham and Newcastle.

Wohlgemuth told Sky Deutschland: “The fact is that he had arguments for himself and we had arguments for us to extend the contract in a situation that was much more difficult than today.

"Today the arguments in our favour actually weigh even more heavily. He feels how the fans love him. He feels how the team needs him. And he also feels how everyone wants him to stay here with us.

"He's a very decent guy and none of that leaves him indifferent. So, we are doing everything that is in our hands and it will certainly not fail because of us."
