Real Madrid have struck terms over an €80 million fee with AS Monaco for James Rodriguez.AS says an official statement is expected from the Bernabéu on Tuesday or Wednesday. Both clubs have been locked in talks for the past week, only reaching a compromise on Sunday night.

The two clubs have agreed an €80 million valuation, with only a few minor details to be resolved to conclude the operation and whether a Madrid player will be included in the deal.

Monaco are keen on Diego López but the player insists he wants to stay at the Bernabéu.

James refused to say anything about his move to Madrid when he was asked by reporters at Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas T4 yesterday afternoon.

The player was in the capital to take a connecting flight to Nice, France. But the new was later confirmed by his agent, Jorge Mendes.
