Stoke City are hopeful Ryan Shawcross will be available for their next game, at West Brom a week on Saturday.
He has been pulled out of the England under-21 squad for games in Norway tomorrow and at home to France next Tuesday due to a recurring knee problem caused by the defender's rapid growth spurt.
