Stoke veteran Delap forever grateful to Wolves boss McCarthy

Stoke City midfielder Rory Delap will put sentiment aside in tonight's clash.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy gave him his debut for Ireland then signed him for Sunderland five years ago.

But Delap, who moved to Stoke in 2007 after being frozen out by Roy Keane, said: "I owe Mick a lot and he is a great manager. I appreciate what he has done for my career.

"But there is no sentiment in football when it comes to situations like this and he will be exactly the same. We will be going all out to win."
