Stoke striker Jones insists they can handle long Europa League run

Kenwyne Jones insists Stoke City can handle a long Europa League run.

Jones helped them book a place in the Europa League group stage with two goals on Thursday as they completed a 5-1 aggregate victory over Swiss FC Thun.

He said: "It's fantastic to be where we are right now and to qualify for the group stages is a good achievement but it's only a start and we can't afford to sit back and applaud ourselves.

"We know our priority is still the Premier League. None of us will hide from that fact, but while we are in the Europa League we have the belief that we can go on and do very well in it.

"The key for us will be how we can come off the back of a European match and get back down to business in the league.

"It's an art that we need to master over the next few months if we are to do well."
