Stoke striker Crouch to take Redknapp, Benitez, Eriksson, Capello influence into management

Stoke City's Peter Crouch has commenced his UEFA 'B' coaching badges as he ponders a career in football management.

The 35-year-old forward was tipped by many to have a bright future as a TV chat host but it appears as though he could step into coaching when his playing days are over.

And Crouch expects to have a little bit of all his former bosses in his repertoire when he turns his hand to the managerial caper.

"Being a coach or a manager? You never know," said the affable former England international who is doing his coaching exams with the Welsh FA.

"I've done little bits and pieces in the media but this is my first taste of coaching and I have really enjoyed it.

"I had been thinking of doing more media work when I retire but this course has made me re-think. It's opened my eyes a little bit to be honest.

"When you just go training every day, you just worry about being a player. This is totally different but I've learned a lot, I'm enjoying it and it's been a pleasure.

"It's very intense but the coaches have wonderful knowledge and they are passing all that on. I really feel like I'm getting something out of it."

He added: "I've been fortunate to play under some really good managers, people like Harry Redknapp, Rafa Benitez, Sven Goran Eriksson, Fabio Capello and Steve McClaren, who is a fantastic coach.

"I've picked up a lot of experience over the years so maybe I would take a bit of from all those great bosses."
