Stoke City manager Mark Hughes watched Danny Ings in action for Burnley on the weekend.
The Potters boss is already planning for next season with reports suggesting he is showing significant interest in 21-year old striker Ings.
The former Bournemouth man scored his 20th Championship goal of the season as the Clarets beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 with Hughes watching on at Ewood Park where he managed between 2004 and 2008.
Ings has been in fine form this campaign with 25 goals in all competitions meaning Burnley will be loath to lose him in the summer, especially as they go after promotion back to the Premier League.
The Turf Moor outfit currently sit second on the tier two table, five points behind leaders Leicester City.
