Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is preparing a £3 million bid for Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant.

The Sun says Pulis is ready to rival Blackburn in a scrap to sign the winger.

Pennant was all set to join Rovers in the summer but the move collapsed over personal terms.

The 25-year-old has been a top target for the Potters ever since their promotion to the Premier League.

Pennant has not made a league start for the Reds this season and can go cheaply as his contract runs out next summer.
