Stoke City midfielder Jamie Ness has suffered an injury at Crewe Alexandra.
Ness limped out of the clash with Swindon after 35 minutes and had to be replaced by Chris Atkinson after complaining of cramp in his hamstring.
But Steve Davis has confirmed the injury is more serious than that and that Ness has returned to Stoke City to start his rehabilitation.
"He's got a little bit of a pull in that," Davis said of Ness.
"There's a little bit of a tear in his hamstring, he's had it scanned.
"He will spend a week with Stoke and then come back to us to start his rehabilitation. He's had a few injections in it to settle it down.
"It's not serious but it's going to keep him out for three or four weeks at least."
