Stoke City will make an improved bid for West Ham United striker Carlton Cole.
The Daily Mail says Stoke are poised to make an improved £10m offer for Cole.
West Ham value the former England international at around £12m and could be willing to accept Stoke's revised offer - but the deal is still likely to fail as Cole wants to stay in London.
Stoke are big fans of the 26-year-old and have been in touch with West Ham throughout the summer, previously offering £8m, but they may have to accept defeat if this bid is rejected.
