Stoke City legend Gordon Banks is looking forward to seeing Jack Butland in action for England U21 at this month's Euros.

Banks believes Butland was wise to turn down an offer from Chelsea last season and instead commit himself to Stoke City.

He told The Sentinel: "I definitely think that was the right decision. It's far better to be out there playing games and gaining experience.

"He'll have been dealing with headers and shots from different angles and learning all the things he wouldn't have done if he was on the bench. You can't really learn if you are not playing."
