Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland is targeting a senior England call this season.
The 22-year-old has returned for preseason with backing from Mark Hughes that he will have a new senior role following Asmir Begovic's £8m sale to Chelsea.
He told The Sentinel: "I've had a short break, but a good one. Now I'm raring to and can't wait for the season to begin.
"I want to be Stoke's number one and I want to be England's number one as well. That's something that can only happen if I am playing regularly in the Premier League and playing well and that's certainly a target in mind.
"The European Championships is next summer and that's where I want to be, back in the England squad and I want to be in that tournament next year."
