Stoke City management are happy with the attitude of Steven Nzonzi after the player demanded a transfer.

His new bosses report a great attitude from the 24-year-old Frenchman after the first days of pre-season training.

"Yes, he seems fine," assistant boss Mark Bowen told The Sentinel. "People have told me Steven is a quiet lad who does his own thing.

"But that's contrary to what we have seen, because he's walking round with a smile on his face and chatting away with the other lads.

"As a management team we are lucky to come into a club and a squad that is settled because usually you are coming in when things are wrong."
