Stoke City goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann says the new loan laws are terrible for young shot-stoppers.
The market has changed for this season, with short-term loans stopped.
"Especially for goalies the changes are a disaster," said 22-year-old Bachmann, who has penned a new one-year deal with the Potters, to The Sentinel.
"There used to be emergency loans and when a goalie in the lower league was injured, the club called Stoke and said, 'We need a keeper, give us Bachmann for four weeks.'
"Now you can only borrow for six months or a year.
"The Premier League 2 is also a new league for the second teams. It's ok to get match practice but it's not really adult football."
