Stoke finally complete signing of Begovic

Stoke City have secured the signature of Asmir Begovic from Premier League rivals Portsmouth. The Potters appeared to have missed out on the Bosnian keeper earlier on Monday, with Pompey believed to have snubbed an offer from Tony Pulis' side.

However, a £3.25m deal has now been pushed through and the 22 year old has penned a four-and-a-half year contract at the Britannia Stadium.

Potters boss Tony Pulis is of the opinion that he has landed one of the most promising keepers in the English top flight.

"Asmir is someone we have been tracking for some time and we believe that potentially he is the best young keeper in the country," he told the club's official website.
