Stoke City have ended their pursuit of Inter Milan midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Potters have pulled out of their £12m bid to sign Shaqiri.

Stoke had lodged the club-record offer to sign the midfielder from Inter Milan.

But the Daily Telegraph says Stoke have scrapped the deal after the player failed to respond to City's deadline of Thursday lunchtime.
