Stoke City defender Philipp Wollscheid is unsure of his options at Wolfsburg.

Wollscheid has been frustrated by red tape this season. Clearly not a part of Wolfsburg's first team, Stoke were reluctant to sacrifice their season-long loan fee and recall him, having replaced him in defence with the impressive Bruno Martins Indi.

"I just want to play," he said in an interview for fussball.de. "I want to help this team as much as possible. I am still under contract at Stoke City. Whether I play next season in England or not remains in the stars for now. To be honest I am not thinking about it at the moment.

"It's hard to say (why it hasn't worked out at Wolfsburg). Of course, the change of coach in the middle of October has played a part."
