Stoke chairman Coates delighted seeing Adam on scoresheet

Stoke City chairman Peter Coates was delighted for Charlie Adam after his winner against Norwich City.

Coates is happy Adam's recent impact after a frustrating first campaign at Stoke for the Scotland international.

"He scored the goal on Saturday and that is very important, especially when you are having a lean time," he explained.

"He arrived to score when it mattered and there is nothing wrong with a long ball.

"It's about it being a good ball, no matter whether they are long, short or medium in length."
