Stoke City chairman Peter Coates admits a deal for West Ham United striker Carlton Cole is not yet over the line.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to the Potters since the Hammers' relegation from the Premier League and a deal could now be completed, for an initial fee of around £4.5million.
Coates said: "Cole's a player the club is interested in and Tony Pulis has liked him for a long time, we think he's a very good player.
"It's not done and dusted but it's work in progress.
