Stoke City skipper Ryan Shawcross is enjoying his football under manager Mark Hughes.

Hughes kept the centre-back as his captain, and has since been busy beating the drum for the defender to win England recognition.

Shawcross said: "I've been happy with my own form.

"Ever since the new manager came last season he's been brilliant with me.

"He's shown a belief in me, and my form's been good so hopefully I'm repaying him."
