Stoke boss Pulis happy to have kept Begovic from Chelsea, Tottenham

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is happy to have kept hold of Chelsea and Tottenham target Asmir Begovic.

Begovic, 24, has been touted as the Premier League's brightest keeper since his trial at Portsmouth as a 16-year-old.

He got a brief run of games during Pompey's relegation season but even after Pulis paid £3.25million for him, Begovic was kept out of the Stoke side by experienced Thomas Sorensen, and that's when Chelsea tried to lure him away.

Pulis said: "We think he can be a very good goalkeeper indeed and the rest is up to him. He has a fantastic desire to work and improve."
