Stoke boss Pulis explains blanking handshake with Fulham rival Hughes

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis blanked Fulham counterpart Mark Hughes' handshake after defeat yesterday.

Hughes believed it was a reaction to how he had conducted himself at the end of the Carling Cup third round tie between Stoke and Fulham in September.

"He is probably getting his own back, because I did a similar thing last time in the League Cup because I was a little bit aggrieved one of his players (Andy Wilkinson) had taken out Moussa Dembele when it was unnecessary," Hughes said.

Pulis confirmed that to be the case.

"He has done it when we played in the League Cup and now I have done it back," Pulis said.

"It's two Welshmen with a bit of competition. I certainly won't lose any sleep over it and I'm sure he won't."
