Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is trying to guide Kenwyne Jones through his barren spell.
After managing four strikes in his opening six games, Jones has gone cold to leave Stoke fans wondering if he was worth the money. Pulis' concern was also evident when he brought in John Carew on loan to take some weight off Jones' shoulders last month.
Pulis said: "Kenwyne has been up and down, but that's Kenwyne. If he was spot on every week, he wouldn't be playing for Stoke.
"He's part of the family and if things aren't going well, then you get around and support them.
"Kenwyne needs a goal to get that little bit of confidence back, but playing with John will be a help because he is such a good player and will give him confidence."
