Stoke City midfielder Michael Tonge is extending his stay with Preston North End.

Tonge is due back at the Brit, but The Sun says Stoke have agreed to allow the midfielder to remain with Preston to the end of the season.

Preston boss Alan Irvine confirmed yesterday he was in talks with the Potters about hanging onto the former Manchester United trainee.
