Sterling demands Man City (& Chelsea) playing guarantees

Raheem Sterling wants playing guarantees from Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola before committing to a new contract.

Sterling is about to enter the final year of his current deal.

The Sun says Chelsea want to sign Sterling for around £60m.

Sterling, who joined City from Liverpool for around £49m in 2015, wants to play regularly to improve his chances of being selected in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

His contract at the Etihad expires in 2023, meaning Pep Guardiola's side could sell him this summer to avoid losing him for nothing, but the club may demand as much as £50m-60m for him.

For his part, should he leave, Sterling will only go where he can be sure of a regular start.
