Bolton Wanderers defender Gretar Steinsson feels they were right to sell Ali Al Habsi to Wigan Athletic.

Al Habsi faces his former teammates this weekend.

"I think the club did what it had to do," he told the Bolton News. "He was promised to go out on loan because you can't keep a fantastic talent, who had done what he had for Bolton, on the bench.

"Jussi Jaaskelainen is our number one keeper at the moment and we've got a great player coming up in Adam Bogdan. You just couldn't do that to Ali, and not involve him this season."
