The Sun is reporting that Chelsea are set to offer John Terry a new one-year deal to stay with the club.
It was widely believed that the 35-year-old was set to finish his 18-year association with the West London club this summer but according to reports, he could remain at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the season.
Chelsea's end-of-season awards night takes place on Friday and it is understood that club officials contacted event organisers to leave out a section which was put aside to pay tribute to the club captain.
Talks with sporting director Michael Emenalo and director MarinaGranovskaia on Thursday were positive and incoming manager Antonio Conte is believed to be keen on keeping Terry around for a further 12 months.
