New Reading boss Jaap Stam is targeting Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett.

The People says the new Royals chief is keen to secure a loan move for the gifted defender.

Blackett, 22, has Championship experience having had a loan stint at Birmingham in 2014.

He joined Celtic on a temporary deal in August but made only four starts for the Scottish giants during his season-long stay at the club.

He has a contract at Old Trafford until next summer with the option of another season after that.
