St Etienne coach Claude Puel insists Wesley Fofana's absence against Nantes had nothing to do with Leicester City's interest.

Leicester and Fofana are both pushing ASSE to sell him before the market shuts, though Puel is reluctant to lose the 19 year-old.

Puel was asked about not considering Fofana for the 2-2 draw with Nantes and insisted: "Wesley (Fofana) had pain in his knee and in the sequence of matches it's difficult.

"So he was not fit tonight."

Leicester are pushing to sign Fofana for £20-25m.
