Tottenham management want January signing Gilberto to play as many games as he can before the end of the season.

The Brazil international has played two first-team games since signing from Hertha Berlin in January, including a disastrous debut in the UEFA Cup first-leg defeat at home to PSV Eindhoven.

The Tottenham hierarchy are reportedly keen for Gilberto, who has scored one goal since his arrival, to get as many games as possible under his belt in order for him to find his feet in English football.
