Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle says Eric Dier has been among the best players at the Euros.

He wrote in the Mail on Sunday: "Dier has been one of the players of the tournament for me. At the start of the season I wouldn't have thought he was player who could hit a pass like that – or the kind of free-kick he scored against Russia. But he is growing in confidence. He's looking for that ball now. It's the killer ball.

"Ivan Rakitic has been a player who I've loved watching. We knew how good he was for Barcelona. But now we can see his attacking potential, the runs off the ball he makes for Croatia.

"And then there is, for me, the player of the tournament so far, Dimitri Payet, He has been the difference for France with wonderful passes and goals at the right time. At the age of 29, he has reached his full potential."
