Spurs keeper Lloris happy to be back in action

Hugo Lloris is happy to be back in action for Tottenham.

The goalkeeper is on his way back from a knee injury sustained late in victory against Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 5 February.

He's misseed nine games since but took the important next step towards full fitness by playing 45 minutes of a training ground friendly against Ipswich Town at Hotspur Way.

“It was good to be back on the pitch, to have that reference," Lloris told the club's website. “Obviously, it's been a long journey, but step by step I'm closer to a return. I'll keep working and I'd like to thank all the staff for their help."

Lloris said he felt the issue 'straight away' against City.

He described the moment. “It was a collision with Rodri and when he hit my right leg, I felt a movement. My knee didn't respond. I was ready for the last kick of the game, and I kicked a strange ball! At that moment, I realised something was missing. The knee was swollen the next day. Everything feels okay now. I'll continue to go step by step."
