Spurs keeper Alnwick: England big U21 Euros chance

Tottenham goalkeeper Ben Alnwick is confident England can win the U21 European Championships this summer.

The shot-stopper, signed from Sunderland at the start of the year, is in Stuart Pearce's squad alongside Spurs team-mates Tom Huddlestone and Wayne Routledge.

"I'll probably be rooming with Tom, which is good because he is one of my best mates at the club," Alnwick told the official club website.

"I knew him before I came here through the Under-21 setup, as well as Aaron because I have played against him since I was young and he has scored a few past me.

"Tom's a good roommate but I'm going to have to stitch him up here because he is on the phone a lot and always texting, which makes it hard to get a conversation out of him!

"There's even been times when I think he's been talking to me and just as I am about to answer I realise he is talking to someone on the phone. It happens all the time.

"It will be a great experience going out to Holland for a big tournament, and I think with the quality of squad that we have, there is no reason that we can't go all the way and win it."
