Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez is interesting a major Premier League club.

That's according to local pundit Mike Verweij, who does not name the club in question.

He told De Telegraaf: "An indication would have been given that the English club has tens of millions of euros left for Álvarez.

"Ajax would have said that a transfer can only be discussed after the World Cup in Qatar next winter."

The Mexico international has been linked with Everton and Tottenham over the past 12 months.
