Spurs enter race for PSG veteran Daniel Alves

Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign former Barcelona full-back Dani Alves.

The Brazilian was released from his PSG contract at the end of last season, and a move to the Premier League could be his preferred option, says The Sun.

A move to Manchester City to reunite with former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola was rumoured to be an option for Alves, who is understood to be open to the transfer.

However, reporter Duncan Castles told the Transfer Window podcast that Mauricio Pochettino has approached the veteran full-back regarding a summer move.

Castles said: "He has a long-held ambition to play in the Premier League and I understand that there's been contact with Tottenham Hotspur about the possibility of Dani moving there."

Spurs are looking to offload right-backs Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier, leaving just Kyle Walker-Peters the only remaining player in that position.

The move for the Brazilian goes against Pochettino's regular transfer policy of recruiting youthful talent, such as record £65million man Tanguy Ndombele, 22.
