Tottenham's board are united in their determination to keep hold of Gareth Bale.
Spurs executive director Donna Cullen has spoken of the club's desire to keep Bale.
Asked about wanting players in the squad to stay, she told the London Evening Standard: "Absolutely. This is all about building the squad for the future and making sure that every time we go into a season, we go in giving ourselves a better chance of competing for top honours."
When pressed if their stance included Bale, Cullen added: "It includes all of the squad. There is always speculation. We learn to live with it. You might ask the question whether it has an impact on the players, it doesn't because it's actually the norm.
"That's what comes with the territory. Given the industry, we have transfer windows, we now accept that is what we're going to get. Everyone looks forward to that window closing and football starting."
