Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is stepping up their bid for Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld.
The Daily Mail says Levy is expected in Spain this week in an attempt to strike a deal for Alderweireld.
The Atletico Madrid star is on Mauricio Pochettino's hitlist but a move for the defender is far from certain.
And Levy is due to jet into the Spanish capital this week to clinch an agreement with Atletico officials.
Alderweireld impressed during a loan spell at Southampton last season, and Saints manager Ronald Koeman is also keen on securing the Belgian on a permanent deal.
