Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp wants to sign his former Portsmouth goalkeeper David James.
The People says James is the man Redknapp sees to replace erratic Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.
Portsmouth could be persuaded to let him rejoin his former boss for £2m.
