Spurs boss Pochettino calm as Kane injured in victory at Bournemouth

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino played down Harry Kane's ankle injury after victory at Bournemouth.

Kane seemed to have pulled Spurs level after Junior Stanislas opened the scoring on the south coast, but with his goal ruled out for offside, concerns grew after the England striker remained hunched on the turf clutching his ankle.

Replays showed Kane - who had been chasing Mohamed Salah in the race for a third consecutive Golden Boot - rolled his ankle under challenge from Asmir Begovic, and would not return to the pitch.

However, his manager insists the striker is already thinking about his recovery plan, saying after Spurs' 4-1 win: "He is positive.

"Harry has a great character and is always positive. He's happy with the victory for the team, disappointed of course with his problem.

"But now if you are positive then you start the recovery from the injury now."

When pressed on how bad the problem was, Pochettino added: "We need to wait until tomorrow.

"After tomorrow he will have a scan in his ankle. Of course he suffered an injury that is in the same ankle as he suffered before.

"But I hope and we hope it's not a massive issue. We need to wait until tomorrow."
