Spurs ace Modric: Form will count for nothing against Portsmouth in Cup

Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric says form will go out the window in Sunday's FA Cup semi against Portsmouth.

Modric insists form will all count for nothing as the teams battle it out for one of the biggest prizes in football - a place in the FA Cup Final.

"This is a very big game for us," Modric told the Spurs website. "If we win, we're in the FA Cup Final and that's what we want. That would be great for everyone at the club.

"But it's not the case that we will just beat Portsmouth. We have to concentrate and play our best football to go through. We can't relax on the pitch and think that we'll win anyway, that's not the way we need to think about this game.

"We have to be 100 per cent focused like we are for every game.

"I thought Portsmouth showed a lot spirit when we played at Tottenham. They played very well, especially in the early stages when they created chances but Gomes made some good saves.

"That is the warning if we think it will be easy. We know they can cause us problems if we don't play well and if we're not 100 per cent. We know we are favourites but we have to go out there and win."
