Rumours linking Nemanja Matic with a possible Chelsea departure only strengthened over the weekend.

Italian publication GianlucaDiMarzio.com reports that the Serbian midfielder was spotted in Milan with his agent Giuseppe Riso as speculation regarding his future at Stamford Bridge continues.

As Serbia beat Austria 3-2 in Belgrade in World Cup qualifying on Sunday, Matic was shopping with Riso in the fashionable Italian city, sparking suggestions he could be on his way to Serie A in January.

However, Matic was linked with Juventus in the summer which has prompted question marks as to why he would be in Milan, presumably due to the fact that AC and Inter are potentially showing interest.

Or perhaps it was simply a short trip away from London during the international break to visit his Milan-based agent.

Matic has started all seven Premier League games under Antonio Conte this season and appears to be a key member of the Italian's squad in West London, indicating that perhaps the Italian getaway is a mere coincidence.
