Sporting CP striker Luiz Phellype has hailed former teammate Bruno Fernandes.

Phellype says the Manchester United midfielder is the best he's played with.

He told ESPN Brasil: "He is by far the best with whom I have played. Outside, people only see what he does in games, but the people who live with him on a daily basis, in training, understand how good he is. Bruno is a guy who works hard and one of the last to leave training.

"After the activities, he will train free. This is reflected on the field. I like to spend 20 minutes improving what I need. I took my shower and took my things, but Bruno was still in the field. He stayed an hour after training every day. He deserves to reap everything he sowed.

"Once, against Vitória de Setúbal, we were in the middle of the game and I thought he was going to pass me the ball and I shouted 'Bruno!', But he shot and missed. He was p***ed, looked at me and said: 'What do you want? Can't I shoot?' I swore like hell [laughs]. I said, 'Okay, Bruno'. Then there was a stop to drink water and he came to apologise and admitted he was wrong."

Phellype added: "He's calm outside the field and on the field he changes. It's like Cristiano Ronaldo when he loses, he can't talk to anyone."
