Sporting CP are closing on a deal for Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha.

After a successful season-long loan with Vincent Kompany's Anderlecht, the Germany U21 international is a wanted man.

TVI 24 reports Sporting are in contact with City about a permanent deal for Nmecha.

Unlike Anderlecht, Portuguese champions Sporting can offer Nmecha Champions League football next season and it is what the striker wants most.

Nmecha made it no secret his frustration after Anderlecht's European playoffs failure at the end of last term.
