Sporting CP have moved to secure William Carvalho to a new contract.
Sporting successfully fought off interest from Arsenal and Manchester United over the summer to keep hold of the midfielder beyond Monday's transfer deadline.
O Jogo says Sporting are preparing a new deal which would see improved terms for 22-year-old Carvalho.
Sporting it is believed will offer Carvalho a year's extension on his present deal.
And it is believed Carvalho will earn significantly more, although it is not clear how much.
