Sporting CP coach Amorim: What Man City boss Guardiola told me...

Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim says they'll learn from their Champions League elimination by Manchester City.

Last night's 0-0 stalemate sees City progress to the quarterfinals 5-0 on aggregate.

Amorim said: "Above all, it's about the rhythm. We can see that the rhythm is totally different, we spend a lot of time defending here, not in our league. These teams, in addition to the quality they have... Manchester City at the weekend , every game, it plays with this intensity, against very strong opponents.

"We have other games where the level is not the same. This makes the players grow, this game is worth a lot, we learned a lot, we grew a lot, we understood what it is to play against these teams. It's a different experience, which makes us grow. Take what's good, come back next year to show that we're better."

On his final whistle exchange with City manager Pep Guardiola, Amorim added: "Nothing special. He wished me all the best, I did the same, I wished him good luck in the competition and nothing more."
