Liverpool great Ian Rush believes Daniel Sturridge's presence in the starting XI can only serve as a major positive for the club.
The 26-year-old striker has strung two starts together in the Reds' last two outings having spent much of the first part of the season sidelined by various injuries.
Sturridge scored against Aston Villa last weekend before getting through a further hour in the 0-0 Europa League draw with Augsburg on Thursday and his return to Jurgen Klopp's side has Anfield legend Rush excited.
"He's special but he needs to be on the pitch," Rush told Sky Sports News HQ.
"If we can get him on the pitch, it breeds confidence. We have some great players, but Sturridge is probably a bit different. He can win you games.
"Against Villa he got the first goal and that changed the game completely because it meant they had to come out and play. When you also have Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino you have three quality players that can score you goals.
"Daniel has had so many injuries, he wants to get himself 100 per cent fit. I think every player wants to play, and if you're not ready, it's not worth playing, but hopefully, now he is 100 per cent because his goalscoring ratio is incredible."
