Spartak Moscow remain favourites to land Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.

The Daily Mail says Birmingham are now back in the equation for Pavlyuchenko but again Tottenham's valuation is prohibitive for a player who has yet to set the Premier League alight.

Other Premier League clubs would definitely take him but on loan and are hoping Tottenham relent in the last week of the window.

Spartak, however, can benefit from the fact their window is open until March and that means Birmingham have to make a hard decision fast with at least three other strikers on their shopping list.
